The Beaufort County Board of Elections will meet at 5:15 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 5:15 pm at the Board of Elections Office at 1308 Highland Drive, Suite 104, Washington, North Carolina.
2020 CANDIDATE FILING DATES
Filing Starts – Monday, December 2nd, 2019 at 12:00 Noon
Filing Ends – Friday, December 20th, 2019 at 12:00 Noon
All filing fees must be made in the form of cash or personal check. Filing Fees above $50 must be made in the form of a check and cannot be paid by a check from a business.

The fifth seat on the Washington City Council was tied between William Pitt and Roland Wyman. After a machine recount and hand-eye recount, the tie at 621 votes each was confirmed by the Beaufort County Board of Elections. After the tie was confirmed, 10 slips of paper with each candidates name listed five times, where folded and placed in a basket. William Pitt was drawn and declared the winner of the seat.

The Beaufort County Board of Elections Canvass Meeting for the November 5th, 2019 Municipal Elections will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 15th, 2019 at the Board of Elections Office at 1308 Highland Drive, Suite 104, Washington, NC, 27889. Any recounts allowed under North Carolina General Statute will be conducted immediately following the conclusion of the Canvass Meeting.

Friday is our last day of One Stop. Our office will be open from 8 am to 5 pm. After 5 pm on Friday, any voter who wishes to vote in the November 5th, 2019 Municipal Elections will need to report to their polling place between 6:30 am and 7:30 pm on Tuesday November 5th, 2019
The absentee meeting of the Beaufort County Board of Elections on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 is cancelled due to a lack of business. The next absentee meeting will occur on Tuesday, October 22nd, at 5 pm at the Board of Elections Office at 1308 Highland Drive, Suite 104, Washington, North Carolina.
