The Beaufort County Board of Elections announces the following schedule for Early Voting for the March 3rd, 2026 Primary Elections:

Candidate filing began at 12 noon on Monday, December 1st and will continue until 12 noon on Friday, December 19th, 2025 for the 2026 Elections. A statewide list of candidates can be viewed on the following links –

Candidate Richard Brooks has requested a recount of the council member contest in the City of Washington. The recount will occur on Friday, November 14, 2025 immediately following the Canvass Meeting which begins at 11:00 am. The recount should begin approximately at 11:15. Polls close at 7:30 pm on November 4th, 2025 Municipal Elections. Results can be viewed at the following link after the close of polls.

Sheriff and County Contests will appear on Beaufort County ballots in 2026. The Primary Election will be held on March 3rd, 2026 and the general election will be held on November 3rd, 2026.
November 5th, 2025 elections are for voters who live within the city limits of Aurora, Bath, Belhaven, Chocowinity, Pantego, Washington, and Washington Park.

The Beaufort County Board of Election has not received any completed absentee ballots for the November 4th, Municipal Election so the absentee meeting for October 14th has been canceled.
The next absentee meeting is on Tuesday, October 21st at 5 pm.
