DEADLINE REMINDER: Public Comment needed for proposed One Stop Plans for the November 8th, 2016 Presidential Election

The Beaufort County Board of Elections is requesting input from the public on proposed One Stop Plans for the November 8th, 2016 Presidential Election.

The Beaufort County Board of Elections is required to operate One Stop Voting for 195 hours during the one stop period prior to the election. Three proposed plans have been offered for public input. Summaries of those plans are as follows:

Option 1: 198.5 Hours

Polls close at 7:30 pm Today for the June 7th, 2016 Primary Election

Polls will close at 7:30 pm today for the June 7th, 2016 Primary Elections. Voters will need to report to their precinct polling place in order to cast a ballot. Sample ballots can be downloaded below. To find out if you are registered and/or where your polling place is located, click HERE.

Office closed in observance of Memorial Day

The Beaufort County Board of Elections will be closed on Monday, May 30th, 2016 in observance of Memorial Day. One stop voting will resume at 8:00 am on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016. One stop will continue 8:00 am to 5:00 pm through Friday, June 3rd and will end on Saturday, May 4th operating from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

UOCAVA Election Notice for the June 7th, 2016 Primary in Beaufort County, NC is now available on our Website

The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act or “UOCAVA” requires states to allow certain voters who are absent from their county of residence to have special rights that provide an expedited means for them to register and vote by mail-in absentee ballot. In order to qualify under the provisions of UOCAVA in this state, a voter must be a legal resident of North Carolina. Citizens covered by UOCAVA include:

March 15th, 2016 Republican County Commissioner Recount Results

Upon request of Candidate Don Cox, the Beaufort County Board of Elections conducted a recount of the March 15th, 2016 Republican County Commissioner Contest on March 23rd, 2016. After recounting all ballots cast for the contest, both Candidates Don Cox and Gary Brinn gained one vote above the previously canvassed official results.
